Home Remedies for Stretch Marks
When it comes to stretch marks, there are a large number of home based therapies which can make a big difference to their appearance. Unfortunately, it would be impractical to list all of the available options, so we will choose just a few which have been proven time and time again by people all throughout the world – in the fight to rid the body of stretch makrs once and for all.
Whilst some of these home remedies for stretch marks may not work for you – the idea is that you need to use them for a sustained and lengthy period of time. Because they are free, and because the ideas are not specifically targeted at stretch marks (instead – they are more targeted to improving the skin generally) – it will take a while for results to manifest.
Remedy One: Aloe Vera
Everyone knows the power of Aloe Vera. If you have a cut, scratch, bite or burn, aloe vera is usually one of the first substances that people reach for to provide relief.
What most people don’t know is that aloe vera also has a number of other qualities which are useful when it comes to the elimination of stretch marks on all parts of the body. These include:
- Increasing the rate at which the skin renews itself
- Smoothing skin and taking away bumps and blemishes
- Removing inflammation and reducing swelling
All of these things will gradually help to eliminate stretch marks from anywhere on the body – but it will take time. If you have aloe vera growing naturally in your garden, you might be in luck, because otherwise you will have to source aloe vera from a store or shop and this could cost a fair bit of money.
Remedy Two: Massage
Massage Is another exceptional option for removing stretch marks gradually. If you think about it, the way in which stretch marks form is very much the function of the skin being unable to mould and change as a result of the changing internal structure. This is why pregnant women often experience stretch marks following the birth of their children.
By employing massage once or twice a week on the affected areas, you should be able to manipulate the skin enough to promote oils, minerals, and other bodily chemicals to rise to the surface of the skin. Following this, because the skin is stimulated, the body enhances the dermis in that area to make it stronger and more flexible. This is where stretch marks are able to be eliminated.
Stretch mark removal via massage is sometimes a drawn out process which can take many months. However, if you are on a budget – you definitely shouldn’t overlook this option. You can either get your partner to massage the spot for you, or you could even resort to doing it yourself. Either way, both options are just as effective.
